Roll up, roll up ! The holidays are here…and who better to put the bug in bugtastic than Theatrebugs!
Our courses have already got off to a flying start! Check out the skies above the Contact Centre in Clapham this week and you’ll see the children flying around being bumblebees, fairies and superheroes; they are all coming to help Squeaker the Mouse find the perfect present for the princess!
Last week the “Princess Rainbow’s Birthday” workshop in Balham and one mum said this:
“My two children have been doing Perform for a year and I can honestly say that they have got more out of three mornings with Theatrebugs than a year with Perform!”
Thanks Noah’s mum!
So….where are we next week?
Putney, Kingston and Chelsea..that’s where! So, if your little one wants to join the fun then give us a bell…..places are going like hot cakes! Yum, yum!
See you there!

Well, just when we thought that every single child aged 3.5years to 8 years in Balham was attending our holiday workshops; we get a call from a mum telling us that there were some children in Balham who were missing out.We couldn’t believe it-a summer without Theatrebugs? That’s like Christmas without Santa, isn’t it?
We just couldn’t stand it and so with a little help from a group of local mums we pulled out all the stops to get a bugtastic 3 day express fix of the Theatrebugs magic to the remaining children.Phew! So they are now singing, dancing and acting their socks off down there! We can’t wait to see their show on Wednesday!

But don’t forget – our other show “The Cupcake Fairy!” is mid tour around London and the Home Counties as we speak and getting some rave reviews too! We’ll tell you more about that next week!
Enjoy the sunshine bug fans!

The Bugs and the Brownies teamed up last Sunday in London Bridge to perform at The Scoop Outdoor Theatre!
One hundred local Brownies aged 7-10 took part in the the challenge to learn a new skill in a day…and boy did they succeed!
Our theme was “Let’s celebrate!” and so with a few helpful tips from the Theatrebugs Leaders the girls took to performing like ducks to water- and why wouldn’t they…with all that rain!
A few raindrops didn’t get in their way and by the end of the day the performance truly was “A Celebration!”
“The event went really well thanks – the Theatrebugs group did especially well in the performance as it rained really hard during their piece but they weren’t phased by this at all and carried on regardless!
Thank you for your help with our event.”

Not Christmas ones though…summer ones! Even better, even longer, even more bugtastic!

Here’s the update on our holiday courses;
Balham 1: FULL
Balham 2: FULL
Barnes: FULL
Clapham: FULL
We’re still taking bookings for the other courses, but places are going very, very fast indeed! And why not- it seems like the children of London like nothing better than turning into princesses, superheroes, bumblebees and fairies; and I don’t blame them! So, if your little girl or boy fancies dancing, singing and acting their socks off this summer; drop us a line and we’ll book them in!

“Happy Birthday, Princess, Happy Birthday to you- all of us who love you sing a very happy birthday to you!”
They grow up so fast!
See you there!

That’s right! It’s almost schools-out time….and that means another great Theatrebugs show is nearly underway! The finishing touches have been put to our script, the actors are cast, we’re dusting off the set and the costumes are winging their way over from the United States as we speak!

But what is the show about this year…I hear you ask. Well, it’s all about The Cupcake Fairy…she has made some cupcakes, and she tries out a new spell to ship them off to the Teddy Bear’s Picnic; but uh-oh! They get a little side tracked and end up in very strange places indeed. Will she find them in time for the Teddy Bear’s Picnic? She might do….with a little help from the boys and girls!

Some slots still available! Do get in touch for more info!

We thought you might like to know what our little bugs are getting up to this term in Theatrebugs!
Here it is….
Our Butterflies are hearing wonderful stories from the “Me, Myself and My Family” term; this week for example, Rover the Dog is very excited about getting a new baby puppy …but the puppy isn’t as much fun as Rover had expected; infact all he does is sleep!Oh dear…luckily Princess Rainbow is close at hand to teach Rover how to be patient!
The Butterlfies are bopping along to some great tunes and learning very cool dances indeed…they can’t wait to show all the mums and dads at the end of term!

Our Caterpillars and Cocoons are having great fun in our “Colour and Shape” term. They sing along to “Shape Train” and go on wonderful colourful adventures each week! This week their story is all about a little giraffe who keeps losing his colourful kites- oh dear! The children are great at finding them though so the giraffe’s sad face soon turns into a happy face again!

They are getting very excited about practicing their graduation plays for the mums and dads…and, if we are honest with ourselves…we’re getting excited about that too! Watch this space….
“Theatrebugs sessions provide children with an excellent means of creative expression, a vital part of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Every session is packed with songs, stories and drama and is adapted to suit the needs of the children. We love it!”

Oh dear….we’ve been busy bees here at Theatrebugs HQ! So busy….we haven’t had a chance to tell you how wonderful our Easter Courses went!

We’ll let some of the mums do that for you…..
“My son Joe attended the St Luke’s course at Easter. He had a lovely time and I’m really grateful to the staff for helping him to settle in on the first morning – he was very wobbly about being left but they looked after him really well and he was really happy to go back on the second day!”
Sally, Joe’s mum, Balham
“Jack loved the course last week….we can’t wait for the summer one!”
Michelle, Jack’s mum, Twickenham

Anyway…in the end Sniff the Frog and Splash the Fish made it safely across to the other side of the pond with a little help from the Pond Fairy and the bravery stone! We don’t think Mr. Crow will be bothering them again any time soon.
The sun is shinning and bookings are now open for our Summer Courses! Have a peek at our holiday workshops page for full details….we’re getting very excited!!
